Realism = Really Scary!
Since I could remember, I was all about fantasy. When I met Super Mario, we became fast friends. The world surrounding the colorful characters was enchanting and delightfully comic book-esque. Despite being called baddies, they were never really bad. (you would kill them by jumping on their heads, for crying out loud.)

In retrospect, there are some games that I just can’t play. Catch me messing around with Silent Hill and you’ll likely find me cowering in a bright florescent room, my hands trembling and saucer-eyed. Having played around with my most recent game.. I can honestly say that realism is becoming a lot like Silent Hill, for me..
Though I’m barely 1/10th of the way into Call of Duty: World at War, the suspense and thrill I feel while playing this makes me more appreciative of people who have battled in real life. Check out the short video I made capturing that sense of urgency to complete a mission, the need to get it right the first time. Maybe I’m just skittish, or maybe not.. what do you think?
