Help Me Satisfy Your E3 Hunger!
No, I’m not talking vampires or a modern kind of junk food. E3 is right around the corner (June 15-17th) and promises to be better than ever. If the term E3, or Electronic Entertainment Expo sounds foreign to you.. read my article here to brush up on the lingo and culture a bit before you proceed.
I’ll be attending the expo armed with a video and still camera, audio recorder, netbook and even archaic notepads, having the most variety of gadgetry and doodads available to help me capture this experience. I may even be live streaming at the event, if you guys show interest in that.
Q. Wait Nixie, my interests? You’re the one covering the event.
A. Quite right, Watson. I’m an E3 virgin, you see.. and I’d love it if you could accompany me on my journey. Come with me to the expo, even if only in spirit! This means I’d like to only write/vlog/report on things YOU care about.
Your Mission:
Below is a list of the bigger games that will be at the show. Pick one, a few, or a short list of games and tell me why you are excited for it, or what you want to know about it. You can even ask a specific question that you have about your game pick and I’ll do my best to get them answered by the developers!
I’m also planning on getting shwag from the booths you choose and I’ll be giving free stuff away when I come back, so make sure to write down your picks before it’s too late!
Over the weekend I will collect your answers then cover the most mentioned games and post a poll up. I will give your comments, concerns and ask your questions at the show. Now, without further ado…

The thing I would like to hear about the most, but isn’t on the list is Starcraft II. That’s definitely the one that I’ve been anticipating the most.
However, I will pick from your list, and hands down, it’s gotta be Fallout New Vegas. The original writers + the new game enginge = quite possibly the best game EVER! Anything I ever hear about this game, I usually get pretty giddy like a schoolgirl. (a very UGLY schoolgirl btw
.
So, that’s my thoughts. Have fun and bring back lots of presents!
I would like to see a Crysis 2.
Live streamimg sounds great – its cool that you live in LA – seems like there is no end of things to do. Here in the Uk its just shops -pub-shops-pub -more-shops. Depressing.
I am glad we can go to E3 together ad E3 virgins
i am hoping to see Resistance 3 there, as well as Metoid other M, Zelda, the all new 3DS, and Project Natal
just one more week
Definitely Halo Reach, Gears 3, Portal 2.
I’d also be interested in seeing the progression of things that were showed at CES and howthey have come from there (Razor’s prototypes for xbox controllers and such).
I only really care about Valve’s “surprise” announcement.
Other than Valve I tend to prefer Indie games (read: games with originality and a colour scheme other than brown).
APB
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Brink
Monkey Island 2
As Jericon mentioned, about the Razer controllers, see if you can get a release date on them; I wants it
A slight correction that Portal 2 will also be on Mac. But that speaks to the larger discussion that would be nice to be on the lookout for.
How does the introduction of Steam on Mac effect the industry?
It’s not lost on me that IGN doesn’t have a checkbox available to mark titles as Mac. However, we’re seeing a flood of titles in the spotlight now that they’re on Mac. While it’s too soon to see an industry wide change, be on the lookout for anything that may speak to the future of the platform.
I recently wrote my Bachelor Thesis on the topic “Virtual Texturing”, so I would be happy to get some up to date answers on id softwares Rage.
How big is Rage atm. in an uncompressed state? (Last info was : 1TerraByte)
What is the framerate on the PS3? (there were comments that the team had problems especially with this platform)
Hope they will show some playable demos.
Valve. I need to know if it’s Ep3 replacing Portal 2. It better be.
I was wondering if there was anything that looks really promising that is NOT part of an ongoing franchise already.
I only care about a few things at E3.
What does Valve have to say about Episode 3? I need to know when Alyx and I will be traveling north!
I also want more info on DC Universe Online. I am not sure if SOE will be bringing that team to E3, but I’m pretty sure they’ll be there. I heard rumors of a release in November too!
as a computer and wii gamer… Swords is the only wii exclusive on your list (so some info about it would be nice) and i didn’t see diablo 3 on your list but it’s the only game i am anticipating right now.
Valve surprise announcement, check. Razer controllers, check. New Vegas.. check. Wii Exclusives.. check.
*feverishly scribbles down notes*
Feel free to pick more from the extended list below, I just had to cut it down or else you guys would be scrolling to infinity here. =)

Sid Meier’s Civilization V
Fallout: New Vegas
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, I heard that this was only for PS3, did they change their minds?
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Fable III
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood
Portal 2
The Lord of the Rings: War in the North
And how about Elder Scrolls V? It can’t end with Oblivion, it just can’t…
I would actually like to see more stuff about project natal. that project looks uber awesome atm
No Beyond Good & Evil 2! *pout*
Definitely Portal 2 and Valve’s “surprise announcement”. Crysis 2 would also be on my list.
You should also make an attempt to check out Nyko’s Booth. Nyko always delivers on the booth babes.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
‘Nuff said.
Portal 2 obviously! :3
It seems you already checked Fallout New Vegas.
If it would be possible I would like to see the Warhammer 40K games,I’m kind of curious if they will turn out to be as good as DoW, or if they will be trash like Firewarrior…
Any PC or PS3 FPS or PC RTS would be great!
Streaming video would be sweet, if it would be reasonable for you of course!
Thanks!
Valve’s surprise announcement? Steam for Linux and a bunch of games to go with it?
That would certainly be nice.

You dont like many games do you dude?
Great list man…
+1 for the live streaming!
For the record, I’m taking credit for you checking New Vegas, even though I knew you’d to that anyway.
F.3.A.R. There is no more exciting and scary that play any F.E.A.R. in the nights with all the volume or with headphones. I’d like to know more about the co-op mode and the improvements in the game mode for the pc version.
Greetings from México
The list:
- Valve’s surprise (formerly known as Portal 2 announcement)
- Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 (for old school gamers)
- Fable 3 (I have my doubts about this game but the past 2 were fun enough tho)
- Splatterhouse (arcade game remade for the PS3 and 360)
- Razer console gear (that 360 controller looks decent)
It seems my list is rather short, I expected more games to interest me but sadly this is not the case.
I’ve observed that in the world today, video games include the latest fad with kids of all ages. Often times it may be difficult to drag the kids away from the activities. If you want the very best of both worlds, there are several educational games for kids. Great post.
