About technology affecting the social and sexual lives of people…
I think it has certain positive effects, but mostly negative. Of course, doing cybersex can be fun sometimes, but it can’t replace real sex. Both cyber and real sex can be perverted or sensitive, but only real sex can be passionate.
Also, there are some cases when a couple get to know each other through the internet, but on a sexual part, technology is mostly alienating people from each other… sadly. Most people don’t try to get a real partner, cuz they can get what they want on the internet.
I think that becoming a real man involves geting the first real girlfriend. Nowadays some boys don’t even try to get a real girlfriend, and I think it’s not good. You heard of that japanese boy who married a game character? The novel named Idoru by William Gibson comes into mind.
So, I think that technology in itself is not bad (my job is about technology, so I don’t think it’s evil), only the uses of it.
