    Hey Nixie!

One of my best memories..(well one of the 6 im posting about) is walking around the world (of warcraft) and making friends with some noob like myself when I was starting. We got to know each other so I asked where he was from..

It turned out he was one of my friends from school!

  2. Stephen Kelly says:

I guess I will leave my second blog entry here too :o (Hope you see both! >.<)

Another of my favourite memories is getting my PlayStation. Number uno!

The only game it had was Tarzan and I played the s**t out of it, my enjoyment made my brother lose interest in the new BMX bike he had waited month for!

  3. NIXIE!!!!

When i was young, my mom said “no video games ever in my house!” so my entire family pitched in and bought me an NES for xmas. she was FURIOUS. she still talks about it to this day. lol.

    ps, love your videos :)

  4. i went to a gamestop to buy my 360. the wii was only out for a mth. the lady in front of me asked if they had any wii’s in stock, and i laughed to myself.”good luck lady.” the cashier goes, we got 2 in stock. o_O i yell at the other cashier, forget the 360, gimmie the last wii. he was on the phone telling a guy they had 1 left, and had to go, wait, nm, sorry, just sold the last one. how amazing is THAT?!!

  5. BlankJebus says:

My greatest gaming memory was getting my Nintendo 64. I remember ripping open the packaging and amiss my excitement, i managed to lose my A/V cable and i didn’t realize it until i was setting it up. I ran downstairs frantically throwing wrapping paper and boxes around looking for the A/V cable. After searching for about 15 minutes i finally found it, gave a cheer and bolted upstairs to finish setting up my N64. I played Diddy Kong Racing and Super Mario 64 for hours and it’s all i did for the rest of that week. It was the happiest moment of my young childhood and it will be a memory that stays with me forever.

  6. BlacKnight says:

One of my best memories xD, is when my dad bought a PC 286 and my brother and I started to play on it, games like othello LOL and games that only were letters not even monocrhromatic games! just letters, but it was fun lol I think i still have the big diskettes somewhere… thanks to my dad i’m now a pc gamer d8D

  7. Josh says:

    Hiya, Nixie!

Well, one of the best and earliest game experiences I can think of is when I was extremely young (my guess around 8 or 9 years old) where I went with my brother to my cousin’s friends house where they were playing what I can remember to be a Final Fantasy. I’m thinking it would have been Final Fantasy 2 (or a game similar).

I had not been a fan of RPGs at all before this, nor did I really know what they were.

After watching them for a little bit move around in this castle, I had mentioned to them they should try to go around the parameter of the castle since the tile that usually is meant to ‘teleport’ you outside the castle didn’t teleport them. I figured “Hey, you can go around that wall, then!”

So, they moved their character along the wall (right on the edge of leaving the ‘zone’) and found a secret room which they all cheered at me for helping them find. I was so proud of myself for figuring it out, and from there began my love for RPGs. =)

  8. Jack says:

For me, it has to be this. When I was about five and just before I’d go up to bed, me and my Dad would boot up an old MS-DOS machine and we’d play through levels of Doom. The sound of the Arachnotron stamping around everywhere sent such scares and thrills through me. The Gothic marble scenery was astounding. Those graphics where enough to create such a rich picture of the Hell-spawned filled lands.

    Just so amazing :P

  9. abdulla96 says:

One of my gaming memories, is when I first bought Counter-Strike. I loved it so much, that I even bought Condition Zero and Source. I’ve been playing them for 4 years now, and still am. We used to play LAN matches in High School in the IT lab if the teacher was gone or we had a free lesson. I would always come out 1st or second (obviously from my experience). I almost cried when my laptop broke, and I couldn’t play anymore. But, we all have to make scrifices, and that’s why I have a Mac!

    lol (xD)

  10. abdulla96 says:

Another one of my gaming memories, is when It was the last day of school, in 6th grade I think. I wanted to play on the PSP Ad-Hoc mode Medal of Honor with my friend in a lesson. It was the English class, and we were just chatting with the teacher, then when I asked him if we could play he said yes, since it was the last day. Well, we played (and I owned the shit out of my friend…), and then one of the guys got jelous and told the headmaster. His reponse was, I think,”What do you want me to do, kill them?”. I couldn’t believe the wierdness level of what he said, but at least we got away with it!

    xD

  11. BlacKnight says:

The second of my best memories, but sad at the end D: after my 286 then 386 and finally the pentium mmx, i started to play simcity 3000 and build the whole city on it, it was perfect just the two skycrappers on the center of my city were not available on the game, so i used the others twin towers…. after i finished ALL, the city was stable, all unlocked all working, the most important contructions, rivers and things were there to know it was my city…

After few days later I started to notice how slow my pc was and reading the newspaper i saw “Pentium 3″WTF mine is just pentium!!! i want it nao!!, so after a long talk to my father we went to store and (since we didnt have much money to pay for it) we gave our pentium 1 as part of paid, but i asked to the seller, do a full backup of my files…. after 1 day of waiting, we went to the store and the seller told me “sorry we forgot to backup your drive”(i was too young to know he was lying lol)… my city LOST all my hard work lost, Its like If blizzard banned your world of warcraft account.

well thats my second memory xD

  13. MildTonic says:

When I was five my older brother got Spectravideo SVI-328 (if I recall correctly) as xmas present. It had bunch of games with it, but first game I managed to get working all by myself was Tetra Horror. Pretty hard game with multiple levels with different tasks. I couldn’t read or write back then but I recognized letters from english loading instructions (I’m finnish) and copied those to cli. Since then I have played with various gaming platforms and 24 years later I still keep playing. Also honing PC’s for gaming purposes had positve boost to my computer skills, so pretty naturally I studied computer science and currently working on IT business as engineer. So my life literally changed because of one game, Tetra Horror.

    BR and Merry Christmas

  16. laura says:

A more recent experience I’ve had with gaming is World of Warcraft. My boyfriend got me into it about 2 years ago, but creating a character, and going to the big cities with the opening music was so epic. it’s one of my favorite games now. My first character was a night elf (super sexy) druid (turning into animals is friggin awesome!) and i still have her although my super cute gnome mage has surpassed her in lvl. Any ways enough of that i hope you had a great Christmas and have a rockin new year!
p.s. my youtube name is unspokenunknown!! =^_^=

  17. laura says:

i’m also trying to get my boyfriend to post because hes a much bigger gamer than i am and would most likely be receiving anything won anyways lol. i can’t think of another significant memory atm anyhow…

  18. Mistraven says:

Best gaming experience, was when i got given World of Warcraft for my B’Day. If it was not for that, i would not have met the gnome warlock who later became my wife :D

  19. Ghetto Sithlord says:

My most strongest gaming memory has to come from playing Final Fantasy VII when Sephiroth kills Aeris. This only time that I ever play a video game in which an event in the game actually made me sad. That whole death scene accompanied by the perfect soundtrack just broke my heart.

  20. Spremuta says:

My best gaming memory was when some family friends ask me what i’d like to receive as present choosing between a good watch and a Commodore 64.. That was the born of a gamer ;)

  21. GPCinf says:

One of my most memorable memories is the first time I played my GBA =D(btw..it was given to me also as a christmas present). I spent about 20 hours straight playing pokemon Silver until the batteries died =(.. that GBA is still working XD

  22. Eagle Eye says:

The fondest gaming memory I have was Christmas morning when I was like 10 years old. My Father said he had a surprise for me and told me I had to go into the basement. I was young, and puzzled beyond all belief. I walked into the old storage room, to find out he had turned the entire room into a Lan center. He had built 4 brand new computers at that time, so that my entire family could game with him. We literally spent all of Christmas playing Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear. Later that night he invited a few friends over and we proceeded to play Janes Fighter Anthology. That is the best memory I have of my Life. Ever since then I have been gaming, 14 years later.

  23. GPCinf says:

The saddest memory i have with a videogame….but one of the more momorables too…is when an aunt gave me a Nintendo 64….i was so happy with it, until a week after there was a short circuit on my house…and the Nintendo64 was more than death =’(…I learned something that day…don’t let your consoles connected if you are gonna leave home for a while….

  24. Eagle Eye says:

The Second greatest moment I have had to deal with Gaming, is my father, his new wife, and her 3 kids Challenged me on the SNES to Mortal Kombat 3. At the Time I was Pro at the game and took the Challenges with ease. They got so Frustrated they connected the extension cables for the remote, and Made me play from another room. They Piled Sheets and Blankets over my head, So I could not “cheat” and sneak a peak at the TV. Sadly Enough I still won every game. They go So aggrivated with me they Threw the SNES against the wall. Let me tell you as Sad as i was to see the system break, It fealt awesome kicking their butts in a different room with no visual or Audio ques. Scorpian and Reptile and Cyrax ftw.

  25. TheX2Com says:

    Hey Nixie.
My best computer memories is from Anarchy Online game.
in my early days into the game I meet a guy that lived in my own country,
witch was rather nice, I got too know the guy over the weeks we spoke, and joined the same guild.
I felt we had an connection, a tiny bond.
Funny thing he was not born in Norway, he was born in Asia, rather in Japan, where in Japan I do not know.
He was kind, compassionate and very friendly.
The experience made me enjoy the game so much more than I would otherwise.
I miss him, he left the game 1 year later.
This is at least 5 years ago, I played Anarchy Online for about 5 years.

  26. deLobt says:

    3. crowbaring unsuspecting scientists to death in half life during the opening sequence. aside from gta, half life is probably the funnest game in which to kill innocents. it’s just such a seemingly unexpected thing to do. you arrive at work for the big day and decide this is the time to crack.

  27. deLobt says:

    4. flicking innocents with stolen helicopter blades in gta 4. the most unrealistic physics moment in a game that prides itself on its realism.. it’s just hilarious. they FLING away and you never see them again. it’s also really hard to pull off so there’s a good bonus sense of accomplishment.

  28. Ryan says:

    Hey Nixie,

My best gaming memory happened when I was eight years old on Christmas. I don’t remember what I asked for specifically, but I remember my parents asking what games my brother and I liked for the N64. Christmas morning came and I still wasn’t sure what we were getting, but I did notice a big box. My parents handed us the box and we shredded the paper on the box, paused and then saw it. The holiest of all Christmas gifts; the glorious N64. We yelled at the same time, “WE GOT NINTENDO 64!!!” It was our first console and we’ve enjoyed gaming every since.

    Merry Christmas.

  29. Archuman says:

Greetings form Ecuador,Southamerica. We have in common some things I like computers and the most fascinating stuffs I mean games I played some of your awesome collection U showed in previous post, I like horror-survivor games and movies in the same fashion, I used to listen to the music U like, but I switched to more close to the “cause” I mean gothic, gothic-metal, doom-metal and similar flavors (I don’t like sun either). And at last but at least the Linux I’m writing this post in Debian ( the father of Ubuntu), I use Moco$oft also… until when XP is out of business. U don’t like Thanksgiving I never heard of that but I think every day God put in front of us it’s worth to fight and to thank (horror-survivor everything it’s about). Have a brave damn geek Xmas day, make noise, talk in whatever nerdy way, be yourself and thank U !

  30. Ryan says:

    Hey Nixie,

Another great memory I have is beating StarFox 64 for the first time. It was the first game I ever beat and will always think of it as a classic.

  31. Ryan says:

    Hey Nixie,

I bought GoldenEye for my 64 3 months ago….nuff said.

  32. Dwayne W says:

My Gaming Memory is when I first got the NES way back in 1989 for Christmas. I never had anything before that day and it started it all for me. I was hooked easily. The best part is my grandfather actually attempted to play Mario with me and I still remember him throwing the controller at the TV and swearing left and right about how it was stupid. He kept running into the Goombas. I may have only been 4 but I won’t ever forget that the day my love of games started.

  33. Dwayne W says:

My Gaming Memory is from Goldeneye 64. The facility with no radar with the flag(I think it was called if I remember right). I would go into one of the rooms with the big tanks and just stand against it. On the red tank at the right angle my screen was all black. I would win every time and no one could ever figure where I was. It was great.

Also. Proximity mines in facility has and always will be amazing.

  34. Ghetto Sithlord says:

My earliest gaming memory comes when I was a kid and me and my brother got an Atari 2600 for Christmas (Yes I actually owned a copy of E.T.). At the time we got it my parents were separated and since my father got it for us, it was kept at his house. Unfortunately that meant we could only play it on weekends since that was when we would stay over at our father’s place. So for the longest time I would be looking forward to the weekends just to get a chance to play with my Atari 2600 and of course to hang out with my dad *wink*

  35. JdoubleA says:

    My gaming memory is
i remember playing left for dead in like a week long marathon with some of my best friends and a beautiful girl i had just met online and we got so many achievements and had lots of fun!

  36. JdoubleA says:

my gaming memory is from a long time ago is being so sick that i got to stay home for 3 days and i stayed up soo long playing ninja gaiden, the adams family, and beating super mario bros on my NES

  37. Wastelander says:

Actually my best memory of gaming comes from the precursor to the most recent Fallout game… Back in the days of Fallout 2, I had one of my most memorable experiences with gaming in general…

I decided to create the most despicable female character known to mankind and went on a bloody rampage the likes of which hadn’t been seen since the days of Ghengis Khan.

Sadly… During those days, I often enjoyed taking a toke or two during my long nights wandering the wasteland…

But then… one dark night… after getting WAY too high… I started to feel a little guilty…

I said to myself… “Man… this is no way for a young girl to go through life…”

I had directed this poor teenage RPG girl into the terrible world of substance (Jet) abuse…

She had run ruined the lives of most villagers she’d encountered… Killing man, woman and child… even trading some poor souls into slavery…

Stealing from everyone she came in contact with… Prostituting herself for car parts…

Eventually, even winding up in the underground porn business…

    Then it finally struck me… I looked at my reputation as a drug-using, child-killing, slave-trading, porn star…

And I felt really bad about what I’d done…

  38. vray says:

    hey what up!
one of my best mem was tht me when every i used to get mad my dad and me played my fav console (atari 2600 )and beside tht it was the the frist system i had ………

  39. shadowslines says:

My First game played…Street Fighter I for Super Nintendo…. it was the first game i play when i was small, omg that games was good, played with my friend, i always lose at that game for some reason, but it was fun.

  40. shadowslines says:

One of the best game ever was, Super Smash Brother for Nintendo 64, one of the best game ever for Nintendo 64, i remember that i always go to my friend house to just play that game, i loved so much that one day he gave it to me as a present, i was surprise… because getting that game at that time was very hard…. games are fun

  41. Safewaysecurity says:

My best gaming memory was in WoW when I got 12 of my friend and myself into a gurubashi arena for my level 19 twink. I really wanted my last trinket so I could get my Arena Grand Master Trinket and people had been killing me everytime in groups of 4 or more. So I wanted to make sure that no one would get it but me. When they all showed up nobody came and I apologized that there was no one to kill. So I got on my main and we all decided to go raid Orgrimmar and killed as many people as we could for about an hour. It was AWESOME. Hope I win =)

  42. Safewaysecurity says:

Another gaming memory of mine was while playing Team Fortress 2 I was talking alot and the people in the server were all cool. I believe we were playing the map Orange X 3 and we all decided to become heavies and have a ranked boxing match. I made it to the last round along with my best friends brother. He decided to use no gloves and I used gloves. He beat me the first time and I won the second time. The third round came and I won and everyone immediately tried to kill me with their mellee attacks but I killed them all because my glove had the 100% crit buff after killing my opponent LOL.

  43. jayk1993 says:

    #4.
Is from EVE online, the memory of getting my first ever battleship.
A battleship is the biggest player ship you can fly without having to train skills for like a year, a battleship only takes about a week to fly it.
So I had a battleship, and I was on my way to the first ingame mission In my new ship.
It ended dreadfully, I of course lost my new very expensive ship………..lol.
It taught me a very important lesson, never use something unless you can afford to loose it, or you have the skills and means to survive. And always listen to advice.

  46. TheX2Com says:

    #5.
Is from AO. When player city’s was introduced into the game, my guild (we thought) got lucky and got a city close to a major hangout place in the game.
When city’s got introduced they also introduced random alien NPC spawn 2 times a day.
The spawn was of course visible from the hangout place………so our random spawn got some attention from other players…….like several dozen other players in the first 1-2 days, by the time 3rd day hit word had gone around that our city had spawns, and since our city was so close to a NPC city, the 3rd day we had hundred of other players wanted some action, loot and kill points.
rest of the week it only got worse, by the end of the week there was players fighting over loot, loot-rights, (the game mechanics was like this the team or single player doing most damage get loot rights for the first 5 minutes or so) and points, only this time the number of players was into 1000ish. by that time we had to file a complaint to the game-master.
He came and got rid of most of our “visitors”. Later the game mechanics got changed from random spawn to player controlled spawn. And we sold that city and moved to a more secure location :D

  49. another fond memory is spending the night at a friend’s house all weekend and playing Metroid for hours on end. Awesome time and awesome game.

  50. ROBERT DESISTO says:

My favorite gaming memory, has to be a recent one. November 16,2006 is when the Playstation 3 came out. It changed my life forever. I was headed down the wrong path the last few year’s, i decided to change my life for the better. Went back to college, taking Video Game Design & Animation. I will be graduating this summer, and my dream job would be working for E.A. Sport’s. I hope everything will fall into place. Video Games are just the begining. The technology is endless, just image the next 10 years are going to be. The ultimate in gaming would be hooking into the MATRIX. Scienceist said that the matrix would be possible to create. The PS3 forever changed my life for the better. Thanx Nixie
