Out with the old, in with the New
As you can tell, my site has gotten a facelift recently. I was hearing that the former version was super slow to load, among other things- so I had to change it up. Okay, so a white background isn’t the prettiest out there, but it works. At least it’s not one of those bright orange retro themes that gives you a killer headache. Either way, some of the code in this one took me forever so I expect to be burn out on things like that for a while.
I also wanted to apologize for not being online for a little bit– I have the family over and that means long, fun games of Pictionary in it’s various forms, as well as Trivial Pursuit that dated back to 1983. Wooopeee! Here’s one of the questions I had encountered: What color is the coloring of cochineal, a dye that uses the scales of tropical insects which are commonly put in food?
First one that gets it right gets a gold star. B)

As for your site changes, I really liked the original… would it be possible to find out which parts exactly were taking too long to load, and speed those up? Coincidentally, I was testing out web optimizing s/w yesterday, and it said your site could benefit from compression of your graphics – suggested usng PNG files instead of JPG? In any event, I’m glad you didn’t have to change the forums and other parts!
I played a lot of Trivia Pursuit as a
kid. I found a question with an
incorrect answer and wrote to them.
They sent me 3 or 4 editions for free
for catching the error. The question
was “What color are Tony the Tiger’s
eyes?” At that time, they were one
color on a small box and a different
color on the larger boxes of cereal.
I don’t remember the colors anymore.
