The Return of Monkey Island – A Preview

I have said it before, and I am sure I’ll say it again: I love adventure games! I love the old school, immersive classics like Grim Fandango, or more recently Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy and Sam & Max. They seem few and far between these days, but the good news is that the makers of Sam & Max, Telltale Games, will be releasing the new Tales of Monkey Island in less than a week.

I put together a little preview article that contains my thoughts on this upcoming game and a short video with a bit of my rambling and the new gameplay trailer, and I posted it over at GameGirl.com. Please do check it out there. If you have no desire to hop on over there, I am embedding the video after the break for your viewing pleasure.

The game is being released on July 7th, but we aren’t allowed to post reviews until 12:01 am on the morning of the 7th. So you guys will just have to wait for my thoughts on the review copy I have in front of me until then!

    I have many fond memories of sitting around my computer, admitadly on mind altering little tabs of paper, with friends for long hours when I was in high school playing Monkey Island, and Jones in the Fast Lane. :P

    I’m ashamed to say Monkey Island was one of the games I missed out on. I think it’s time I got on a valiant adventure to find it.

    My favorite adventure game series! I may just have to buy a Wii to play this, unless it happens to run well under Wine.
