Okay, now.. let’s get busy.

I grew up gaming on the computer and consoles like the Atari 2600 (Video Olympics FTW!). I’m still a PC purist at heart and have always been a bit (a lot) of a technology geek. I’m being constantly impressed by how far games have come and are going, so far beyond when I used to play Kings Quest for hours, a DOS based adventure where I had to type “GO NORTH AND PICK UP KEY” I am convinced it will only be a matter of time until we’re breaking out the virtual reality games.

I was born of Russian descent and was adopted by a wonderful family, grew up in Massachusetts where I spent most of my childhood years, then moved to Iowa (the middle of nowhere to be exact) as a teen as an effort by my parents to calm the “wild child” in me. After this wild child gamer girl grew up to be a wild gamer chick, I thought I’d try out something different and head out to the coasts of California. I love to travel and just recently spent a month in Europe, exclusively to check out the Love Parade, a 1.5 million strong electronic dance party/rave.. (oh, watch out for the Space cakes in Amsterdam 😉 )

I recently left my job as a master control operator at a television station to pursue my dream of starting my own business. I’ve done everything. Well, almost everything. Along the way I rediscovered my love for talking about games and for video and music editing, and hope to see that I am accepted as a Suicide Girl, though I’m too much of a nervous nerd to put myself “out there” yet. However, I tend to do things impulsively, so be on the look out for those pictures in the near future. {insert evil laugh here}

I have recently discovered the joys of Linux as an operating system, and created a little part of my site devoted to sharing my experiences with others; perhaps helping them avoid the same pitfalls I’ve made. I intend to review games that I play quite a bit, hopefully giving people insight into what is good and what is not good about them before they buy. My true love is creating videos that make geeks laugh, and I hope that people find them as amusing as I find it entertaining to create them.

So welcome to my random blog of consciousness – where I talk about things that pique my interest or may be of interest to you, the readers. Please let me know what you guys like to hear about, see, or what you’re not crazy about. Whatever’s clever; It’s you that makes my geeky heart beat!

A few frequently asked questions:

What is your Xbox Live gamertag?

Why do some of your videos show you with your mouse on the left side of your keyboard, some on the right?

I am ambidextrous and am able to use my mouse, play games, and do a lot of other things equally well with both hands. 😎

Your Xbox Live friends list is full, will you please add me?

I love that you guys all want to add me but we are limited in the number of friends we can have, and I have known the people on my list for a while. I can’t add everyone, even though I wish I could!

Why haven’t you replied to my email/message/post/comment/IM/PM/Skype/response/etc…?

I have been very pleasantly surprised, astonished really, by the overwhelming response to my videos and blog. I do my very best to respond to each and every one of the messages and requests I receive, but sometimes with trying to work, go out and have fun, and yes even play games once in a while, I get behind on my responses. Please understand that I am not trying to ignore you, and I love and appreciate every person who took the time and put their thoughts into sending me a message of any kind.

Why did you wear that dress/makeup/accessory/etc. in your video, are you trying to get attention?

I wear things that I like – that I think look good, and that I feel comfortable in. If others like it too I find that very flattering, but it isn’t why I wear it.

Who is the BAMF that does your artwork?

That would be my friend Joel, check out his work!

Some of your videos are shot with a different camera, who is it?

Though I usually record in vlog format, I assure you any “artsy” or stylized quality you see is likely because of Max Vohra of Syncryptic Media, my expert videographer!

You talk about/show pictures of girls a lot – are you a lesbian?

I really don’t see why people have to put labels on sexuality, and I loathe doing it. I have been attracted to members of both sexes and I don’t know or care what that “makes” me.

Does the carpet match the drapes?

Sorry, I prefer hardwood floors. 😉
